Candidate Requirements
Candidate Requirements
Please review all of the following information to determine if you meet the requirements in three areas, specifically: Equipment/Software, Knowledge (basic English and match skills), and the ability to commit to the timeline for the duration of the program. If you meet all requirements and are still interested, proceed with completing the application form.
Equipment/Software
1. Direct access to a desktop or laptop outfitted with a webcam to participate in live training sessions and work group activities
2. High-speed internet that provides access to Wi-Fi
3. MS Office (MS Word, MS Office and MS PowerPoint will be used)
4. Printer
5. Phone needed to initiate and maintain communication with funders and grant applicant organizations
Knowledge
1. Basic English literacy and communication skills
a. Ability and interest in reading articles, reports, books and other information on a wide variety of topics
b. Ability to write at a level required to prepare documents required by college students (term papers, research reports, etc.) and/or detailed business correspondence (letters, informational emails and memos, policies and procedures) or other business-related content (press releases, content for marketing materials, or website content)
c. Ability to communicate verbally via phone and in-person with potential grant applicant organizations
2. Basic Math calculation skills required to prepare budgets (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
3. Computer Literacy
a. Fundamental typing/keyboarding skills
b. Competent with use of MS Word, MS Excel* and PowerPoint*
(*or willingness and ability to learn the fundamentals needed to prepare and view budgets and presentations for nonprofit clients)
Successful Completion of the Intensive Basic 8-Week Grantbuilder™ Course
(All training sessions will be recorded and available for viewing by participants)
4. Minimum Commitment and Availability for total of 12 weeks (live, online)
A maximum of one (1) excused absence allowed with advance notice
